Understanding Baccarat Basics
Baccarat is one of the most elegant card games found in casinos worldwide. The game's objective is straightforward: predict which hand—the Player or the Banker—will have a higher total value, or if the round will result in a Tie. Unlike many card games, players do not make strategic decisions about their own hand; instead, they place bets on the outcome.
The game uses multiple decks of standard playing cards, typically six or eight decks shuffled together. Card values are simple: Aces count as 1, numbered cards 2-9 maintain their face value, and face cards (10, Jack, Queen, King) count as zero. Tens are also valued at zero. Hand totals are calculated by adding card values and taking only the last digit of the sum. For example, a hand with a 7 and an 8 totals 15, which counts as 5 in Baccarat.
